How to Care for Your Cowhide Phone Case

Cowhide products are prone to shed hair when used regularly. As your phone is one of your most used possessions please follow these instructions to help maintain the integrity of your cowhide phone case:

  • Do not place your phone case in clothing pockets or tight spaces as this will cause the hide to shed;
  • Avoid placing hands in the same position on the phone case.Oil and sweat from fingers and palms can cause the hair to shed if held excessively in the same position;
  • Avoid sunlight, heat and moisture, keep it cool and dry;
  • Keep it clean by using a soft brush, brushing delicately in the direction of the hair to remove loose dirt. Then using a damp cloth, gently rub the hide in the direction of the hair being sure to avoid excessive moisture. Allow to dry naturally.

NOTE: You may notice a burnt odour on your new phone case. This is a normal reaction as laser engraving is essentially the burning of the cowhide and can leave an odour which will dissipate over time. If the smell is overly offensive leave in a cool, dry and well ventilated area until the odour has faded.

How to Care for Your Leather Products

Leather products face aging, sunlight, humidity and general wear that can take a toll on their appearance and life time. It is important to be mindful of your leather products and take care of them.

  • Invest in a good quality leather conditioner to keep your leather products looking their best;
  • Scratches are unavoidable but should be treated by rubbing gently with a small amount of leather conditioner on a clean, dry cloth and leave to dry;
  • Remove dust, stains or dirt by wiping down up a clean dry soft cloth and following with a leather conditioner;
  • Do not use water or soap as some chemicals in them can ruin the leather over time;
  • Avoid excessive water as it can damage, shrink or change the appearance of the leather;
  • Avoid excessive sunlight as it can dry out the leather and weaken over time.

NOTE: Please be aware that the colour of the leather will become richer and the surfaces will develop beautiful patina over time.
